Domestication of fishing baits on Lake George to save papyrus vegetation, Uganda

Current growth of the population is putting a lot of pressure on the ecosystem of the lake. One of the issues that threatens the lake is that current fishing techniques is using bait found underneath coastal papyrus destroying natural coastal vegetation.
Vermiculture as a bait could be a very attractive alternative to make fishing on Lake George more eco-friendly. Inception meeting is done during a multi- stakeholders engagement in all 3 landing sites (S/cty F.Os, FPUs, Fishermen groups/committees) to train, & choose suitable sites.
